Choose City

There is nothing that frustrates me more than going to a classifieds advertising site and being hit by the infamous "Choose City" prompt before you can do or see anything. Why in this day and age do people cling to their locale so fiercely? If I need something, it doesn't matter if it is located around the corner or 3000 miles away - I'm going to order the product online and have it shipped.

In fact, this is the principal reason why NetSide Corporation started the buysell-browse.com Free Classifieds Advertising forum: we need a better system. Most of the big boys in the classifieds business still force customers to trade in a limited neighborhood of their own world. Most of the specialized software packages sold for classifieds web sites are built around the same outdated newspaper model.

Calendar

We have introduced yet another feature for your use: a Calendar. In case you're wondering what a calendar is doing on a free classifieds advertising site, here are a few suggestions:

* announce a sale event
* announce a limited offer, deadline to redeem, etc.
* announce a meeting, business conference, exhibit, etc.
* announce an inaugural, grand opening, gala, etc.
* announce a show, concert, movie premiere, sports event, etc.
* announce a community event
* schedule a group event

Calendar event categories are the same as for forums, blogs and the image gallery. Everyone can view the calendar at http://buysell-browse.com/calendar.php, but only registered users can post.

Image Gallery

More toys: we just added an image gallery, which you can access from the Gallery menu option. Guests can view the gallery at URL http://buysell-browse.com/gallery/index.php but cannot post images or comments.

So why have an image gallery for a free classifieds advertising site? Well, just think of the old saying: "a picture is worth a thousand words". Sellers can post images of their products with comments, and shoppers can comment on the images or ask questions. It's as simple as that.
